At One Design Group, we believe that good work should leave things better than we found them – for our clients, our community and the environment.
We take a practical approach to sustainability. We operate with a remote-first and hybrid working model, reducing unnecessary travel and energy use. We work with suppliers who share our values and make considered choices about how we run the business day to day.
We are also connected to Green Acres in Northumberland where our founder Matt haycock is also a director. Green Acres is a living environmental project focused on tree planting, biodiversity, wildlife corridors and beekeeping. Our group investment in Green Acres is helping to sequester CO₂ and support long-term environmental initiatives in the North East.
Sustainability is not a separate agenda for us. It is part of how we think about the work, the business and the relationships we build.

We've worked with Matt for a number of years, originally through Halogen Creative, and have always found him to be professional, knowledgeable and great to work with.
Matt originally created our previous website and more recently helped us to redesign and improve it. He took the time to understand our company, what we do and how we wanted to present ourselves, resulting in a website that is much more modern, informative and reflective of our business.
More recently, Matt has also been helping us with our SEO and social media, helping us to improve our online presence and reach more potential customers. He also keeps us informed about relevant funding opportunities and other ways we can develop and promote our business, which has been really valuable.
What we particularly appreciate is that Matt doesn't just provide a service and leave you to it. He's always happy to offer advice, explain things clearly and make recommendations based on what he thinks will benefit our business.

I recently contacted One Design Group about issues I was having with my websites. I spoke to Matt - over the phone - who discussed the issues with me and gave a thorough breakdown of how the issues could be rectified. One of the websites had been taken down (and had been told previously by another company) it couldn't be retrieved. However, Matt managed to retrieve the website whilst I was on the phone - much to my relief. And this was before I'd met Matt. Even over the phone I felt that Matt understood my concerns. He gave clarity and supported me through these challenges, empathising, giving clarity and reassurance - rare in this day and age.
Following on from this, I didn't hesitate to go ahead and work with One Design group, and was then was able to meet up with the rest of the team at their offices in North Shields. Here I was introduced to Andrew who, along with Matt, went through the technical issues of the websites and also the design and layout. Everything was explained by both of them so I understood what they would be doing to improve the performance and design of both websites. Nothing was too much trouble, and they answered my questions giving clarity so I could better understand the inner workings and operational processes of IT. Never, at any point, did I feel under pressure to make a decision to work with them. For me, this came on the basis of their individual expertise and knowledge in their field as well as the overall support I have received since working with them.

I've worked with Matt for a number of years, initially through Halogen Creative and more recently with Matt and the team at One Design Group.
What has always stood out to me is how supportive and approachable they've been. I don't come from a marketing or web design background, so there have been plenty of occasions where we've gone backwards and forwards discussing ideas, asking questions and refining things. At no point have I ever felt like I was being a nuisance or asking too much. Nothing has ever seemed to be a problem.
Matt has always been patient, happy to explain things and willing to share his knowledge, which has made a real difference. That support has given me the confidence to get involved in developing our website and marketing, knowing I have experienced people to bounce ideas off whenever I need them.
