Refer a business to us and we’ll donate £100 to two local charities
For over 25 years, the team behind One Design Group have built brands, websites and campaigns for businesses across the North East, and almost all of that work has come to us the same way: someone we have helped tells someone else. Now, when a referral turns into a client, we say thank you by giving £100 to charity. Here is how it works and why we do it.
The short answer
Refer a business to One Design Group, and if they become a client we donate £100, split between two causes we are proud to support: St Oswald’s Hospice and Love, Amelia. It costs you nothing, takes about two minutes, and you can refer as many businesses as you like. There is no cap and no catch. Word of mouth is how we have grown for over a quarter of a century, so this is our way of turning your recommendation into something that helps the wider North East, not just us.
How does the referral scheme work?
It is deliberately simple. If you know a business that could use help with branding, a website, digital marketing or IT support through our sister company One IT Support, a warm introduction is all we need. Pass their details to us, and if they go on to become a client we donate £100 on your behalf.
There is no cost or commitment on your part, no limit on how many businesses you refer, and the donation is made once they come on board. You make the introduction. We do the rest.
Who are the charities?
We have chosen two North East charities doing work that matters close to home.
St Oswald’s Hospice is a Newcastle based charitable hospice that has cared for local adults, children, babies and young people with life-limiting conditions for 40 years. Its specialist teams give patients and their families expert, compassionate care and quality time together when it matters most, and the hospice relies on community and business support to keep those services running.
Love, Amelia is a North East baby bank founded in 2019 in memory of Amelia, a little girl born in Sunderland who sadly passed away shortly after her birth. Her parents set up the charity in her honour so that no child goes without. It provides new and quality pre-loved essentials, from clothes and cots to school bags, to children from birth to sixteen across the region, and has already supported more than 24,000 local children.
Splitting the donation lets us support care at the end of life and a stronger start to it, both rooted right here in the North East.
Why do this at all?
Because the North East has backed us for over 25 years, and giving back is part of how we want to do business. We are a North East creative and digital agency, formed from the merger of Halogen Creative and One IT Support and based in North Shields, and this is our community. The clients we work with, the people who recommend us, and the families these charities help are all part of the same region.
Most of our work has always come from word of mouth, which means our clients have been quietly growing this business for years. Turning that goodwill into a real donation felt like the right thing to do. You get to back a business you rate and support a good cause at the same time, and two local charities get help they can put straight to work.
How do I refer someone?
Head to our referrals page, add your details and the details of the business you are recommending, and submit the form. That is it. If they become a client, we make the £100 donation and let you know. If you have worked with us before and would rather leave a review than a referral, you can do that from the same page, and it helps other businesses just as much.
